Les Berry is a Medicaid Specialist for Your Legacy Legal Care®, where he helps clients navigate the many paths to qualifying for Medicaid — whether care is needed at home or in a nursing facility. One of the most important ways Les supports clients is by getting them the care they need quickly while also helping them avoid the Medicaid Estate Recovery Program, working hand in hand with our estate planning team to protect what a family has spent a lifetime building.

Facing a long-term care need is rarely simple, and it’s almost never just about paperwork. Families are often trying to make urgent decisions for a parent or spouse while worrying about whether the home, savings, or legacy they’ve worked so hard for will still be there for the next generation. Les brings a rare, insider perspective to that worry: before joining Your Legacy Legal Care®, he worked directly for the Texas Health & Human Services Commission’s Medicaid Department, as well as on the legal side of Medicaid planning. That firsthand view of how the system works from the inside allows him to anticipate obstacles before they arise and guide clients toward solutions with clarity and confidence, at a time when they need it most.

Les earned his bachelor’s degree in General Business & Economics from Stephen F. Austin State University. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities and sporting events with his wife, son, and daughter.
