Sharing is Caring- A Guide to Make and Keep Caregiving Personal

Kim Hegwood | February 19, 2025

One of the things that have concerned us is there’s been a lot of caregivers coming in and out of my parents’ home. And that’s with them just having someone once or twice a week. It’s rarely been the same person. And for someone with dementia, we really feel like a little bit of consistency would be very key. And we’ve not achieved that yet. ~Kimberly Massey

Here is what Kim and Kimberly will be discussing today.

1.     Like many families yours has chosen to keep your dad at home for as long as possible. Was bringing in outside help hard for your parents to accept?

2.     Has your experience as a social worker helped your family?

3.     What has been your experience with home care personnel caring for your Dad with dementia?

4.     How can knowing what someone was like 20, 30 or 40 years ago help a home care worker do a better job?

5.     You created a workbook for families to have in the home. Can you tell us a little about that?
