Really look for activities that they’ve always enjoyed doing in the past and maybe that they enjoy doing now. Oftentimes that just really helps to give them a sense of purpose. So, if it’s things, even daily activities, whether it’s helping you to dry dishes, setting the table, even sitting and planning for a meal, talking that through, those are really wonderful things. They’re normal daily activities.

She is currently a Memory Care Program Director with Brookdale Senior Living and a mentor for onboarding Clare Bridge coordinators/managers new to the Brookdale memory care environment.  Elaine has extensive experience providing support groups for families dealing with dementia both as a facilitator through the Alzheimer’s Association and currently with Brookdale.  Elaine received her Bachelor’s degree with honors work in Gerontology.
